YOU'RE IN CONTROL.
Clinical Hypnosis is a therapeutic technique that involves guiding individuals into a relaxed state of focused attention for the purpose of accessing and utilizing their own internal resources to improve wellness and outcomes.
It utilizes trance as a way to accomplish this. Trance is a natural phenomenon. You have experienced trance when you fail to see something you're looking for and it's right in front of you, acted on "autopilot" when engaged in a task, or become so engrossed in a movie or novel you've lost track of time.

In this trance-like state, patients can explore thoughts and feelings that may be contributing to various issues in their life and build upon their own skills and strengths to improve their functioning.
Hypnosis CANNOT be done TO you. It is a collaborative experience in which the clinician acts as a guide and trusts your system's innate ability to heal and support itself. By working with a trained clinician, clinical hypnosis helps individuals access their own inner resources to enhance self-awareness and promote positive changes, leading to improved overall well-being and performance in daily life.
It is important to distinguish a hypnotherapist from a clinician trained in clinical hypnosis. The former can be anyone! The latter is a health care provider who is properly trained, licensed, and credentialed within their specific health care discipline. When seeking hypnotherapy, it is important to receive care from a qualified licensed clinician.
CLINICAL HYPNOSIS
TRAINING
I've completed Level 1 Clinical Hypnosis training through The American Society of Clinical Hypnosis which has prepared me to use this approach in our work together, where clinically appropriate.

The American Society of Clinical Hypnosis follows strict ethical guidelines in the application of hypnosis for clinical purposes. They require that all trainees have graduate level training in their area of expertise and hold a valid license in a qualified health care discipline.
