    FAQ

    Fees & Insurance

    What are your fees?

Our standard fees for 2026 are as follows:

    Psychodiagnostic Evaluation- $245/ 53 min

Recurrent Individual Psychotherapy Session- $195/ 53 min

Fees may be subject to change with advance notice to you.

    Do you accept insurance?
Currently, we are a participating provider for Johns Hopkins EHP. We are considered an out of network provider for all other insurance companies.

    Do you provide superbills?

If your insurance company offers out-of-network mental health benefits, you should receive some reimbursement for the cost of our services. We would be happy to provide superbills for you to receive reimbursement for our psychotherapy services.

Questions to ask your insurance company if you're considering using out of network benefits:

    • Do I have out-of-network mental health benefits that cover Telehealth visits?

    • What amount will I be reimbursed for the following Telehealth services with a licensed psychologist in zip code 21210?

                      *CPT Code 90791 (initial consultation)
*CPT Code 90837 (subsequent psychotherapy sessions)
                      *CPT Code 90880 (hypnotherapy)

    • Is there a deductible I need to meet each year before I can begin to receive reimbursement for sessions?

    • Is there a session limit per year?

    • Is there preauthorization required? If so, what information do you need for this? Is there a specific form that needs to be filled out?

What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept payments in the form of credit card (including HSA and FHA), using a HIPAA compliant payment system. To secure your first appointment, you will be asked to place a credit card on file using this system, which will assist us in streamlining payments for future sessions.

What is the No Surprises Act?

The No Surprises Act provides federal protections against unexpected medical bills. When applicable, you have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate of the expected cost of your care.

Because the length of psychotherapy varies from person to person, it isn't possible to predict the exact cost of treatment in advance. I will provide an estimate based on your anticipated frequency and duration of care and update it as needed.

You can learn more about your rights under the No Surprises Act here.

    Getting Started

How do I know if we're a good fit?
The best way to find out is to schedule a complimentary 30-minute consultation. It's an opportunity to share what brings you to therapy, ask questions, and get a sense of what working together might be like.

How do I schedule a consultation?
Give me a call or click here to schedule a phone consultation with me.

    What happens after the consultation?

A good therapeutic fit is both personal and practical. You should feel comfortable with me, and my skills, experience, and approach should align with what you need. Our complimentary consultation gives us a chance to explore both so you can get a sense of how it feels to work together, and I can determine whether I'm the right person to support you.

What should I expect in my first session?
Your first session is an opportunity to slow down, tell me what brings you in, and begin making sense of what you're experiencing. We'll talk about your history, current concerns, and what you'd like from therapy. You don't need to arrive with everything figured out.

    Working Together

    Do you offer telehealth?
Yes. I currently provide telehealth only services to clients located in Maryland.

    How often do we meet?

Research consistently shows that the therapeutic relationship is one of the strongest predictors of psychotherapy outcomes, across different treatment approaches. For that reason, I typically begin with weekly sessions giving us the consistency needed to build a strong therapeutic relationship and meaningful momentum.

As your needs and goals evolve, we may adjust the frequency. Some periods may call for more support; others may call for less.

    How long are sessions?

Sessions are 53 minutes long. Oddly specific, I know. It’s the standard length for insurance reimbursement and gives me a few minutes between sessions to grab a drink, write a note, and reset so I can be fully present with you.

How long will I be in therapy?

There's no predetermined timeline. The length of therapy depends on your goals, needs, and the kind of work we're doing together. We'll revisit this as your needs evolve.

What areas do you work with?
I work with women navigating reproductive and post-reproductive transitions, as well as concerns including anxiety, relationships, identity, parenting stress, life transitions, and the emotional demands of carrying significant responsibility.

    Privacy & Practicalities

    Is therapy confidential?
Yes. Your privacy is important, and I follow applicable professional and legal requirements regarding confidentiality. We'll discuss the limits of confidentiality when we begin working together.

    What is your cancellation policy?
24 hours to avoid cancellation fee which is the total cost of the session.

Can I contact you between sessions?

Yes. You're welcome to reach out between sessions for non-emergency matters. I may take up to 48 hours to respond, so please plan accordingly. For urgent or emergency concerns, please use an appropriate crisis (988) or emergency resources (911 or the nearest emergency department) rather than waiting for a response from me.

What if I'm experiencing a mental health crisis?
Our practice does not provide crisis or emergency services. If you are experiencing an emergency or need immediate support, please contact 988, 911, or go to your nearest emergency department.

Do you work with clients outside Maryland?
Because I am licensed in Maryland, I can provide psychotherapy to clients who are physically located in Maryland at the time of their session.
