Clinical Hypnosis

Clinical Hypnosis is a mind/body approach towards treatment. Division 30 (Psychological Hypnosis) of the American Psychological Association defines hypnosis as "A state of consciousness involving focused attention and reduced peripheral awareness characterized by an enhanced capacity for response to suggestion” (Elkins, Barabasz, Council, & Spiegel, 2015, American Journal of Clinical Hypnosis).

In our work together, we might use hypnosis to address concerns such as anxiety, self esteem, performance enhancement, uncomfortable symptoms of perimenopause and menopause, or to promote general relaxation and sense of wellbeing. I'm excited to explore with you whether this approach would be a helpful on it's own or as a compliment to traditional psychotherapy.
